Early this morning I'm laying like the dead
Kindly dismissed the noises in my head
I was one, and I followed the sun
Walked with my kin to the end of a beach
Behind us the mountains were giving a speech
And when they were done, we all followed the sun
Then a stream of water started streaming from my mouth
Dirty to clear as if doubt to no doubt
Turned out they had come, and to follow the sun
We were not remorseful we had days and hours full
Of love, and that's not awful
If I swim out will I make it back to shore
If I need everything then surely I'm poor
Or worse I am dumb, to follow man and not the sun
Calmer than a storm before it's just about to hit
The mountains spread their arms and no one ran and hid
Did what they'd done, they followed the sun
Not at all resentful of the ever changing temple
Had un-become, to become
See how it rises and beckons us to wake
All the tears of gladness we could have filled a lake
Let them run, for they follow the sun...
