Opened my heart for a kicking
Opened my head for the truth
Not one clue what I was looking for
With all the arrogance of youth
But this world
Will not pimp out its secrets to everyone
It urged me to turn
To where others before me stood queued
So I climbed the top of the highest mountain
And I raised my arms and face to the sky
And awaited my heavenly blessing
Or for some mystical eagle to fly
But instead, what I got
Was the silence of utter indifference
And the sight of the stars
As they danced in the deepening night
