Did the rain fall down upon you
Did the outcome overcome you
Could the urge to acquiesce not be denied
You thought you could defeat it
There were a million ways to beat it
But a million others on the other side
A war for sure to keep on fighting
A conflict you could take delight in
But maybe you have changed your mind
And you're resigned
And so I guess, that what I'm saying
If that's a price you're tired of paying
Then simply let things slide
And at least you tried
Did the path that you set out on
Riddle you with doubt and
Were your thoughts obscured by phantoms, mists and ghouls
With a pack of half-baked theory
And a weight to make you weary
Assailed by countless feeble-minded fools
When everything's in opposition
And change just seems a proposition
Too painful and immovable
To effect or endure
I think what I am saying to you
Is don't be afraid if you need to
Take the fall before the pride
'cause at least you tried
At least you tried
