I like to speak to the trees
Because I think they believe in me
Growing up unlike me and making more plans than I've been able to keep
I like to watch the leaves
Because they always seem so happy
Flying across the open air, exploring unknown territory
And I really like looking at the water
Millions of microscopic movements creating an equilibrium
All the creatures living in blissful oblivion
I tend to enjoy writing songs because it makes me feel understood
Even if no one can understand what I'm trying to say
It gives me a reason to stay
And I've been meaning to learn how to get out of bed
And take a breath of fresh air, someday free myself of nicotine
Take a step outside and place my feet on the grass beneath
But I haven't made it there yet
