Jrumma - Fathers Day Lyrics

He was only 20 years old with his own apartment
Living check to check, working a call center
She was digging herself out of a hole without a place to go
They f*cked around, he fell in love with her
It was great for a couple of weeks until she
Started screaming at him, blowing up like a bomb hit her
After he noticed she was acting different
He would wake up to the sound of her coughing and vomiting
They were hooking up without a condom
But she told him that she had a problem
Claiming that her doctor told her that she's not
Ever going to be able to have a son or a daughter
Well that was the first of a lot of lies
She done took the test, she got double lines
They hit the floor and that couple cried
He just smiled but the girl didn't want the child
On God, her colors would show
Dyed her dark just to watch with her soul
He was excited to tell all his friends
But she didn't want anybody to know
Something was fishy right up from the start
She played the victim while playing his heart
What happened later would tear him apart
But no one will know, the truth's in the dark

He won't ever get that card on Fathers Day
He won't ever get that call
He won't ever get that card on Fathers Day
He won't ever get that call
But how does she sleep knowing that
He's going to get older and ask
"How could you lie to my face?"
'Cause you can't bury the past
She wears a beautiful mask
But soon he'll see through the cracks
It's only a matter of time
He'll leave and never come back

Couldn't get ahold of her phone but he'd try to
When he did, he'd only get lied to
Conversations shorter than a haiku
She done slept with this dude from their high school
It's her ex man, she said she's out with her best friend when she texts him
And that's f*cked up, now he's f*cked up
Tried to break it off, but he's stuck 'cause
Every time he'd confront her
About something she'd summon the nerve to say something disgusting
Like "If you leave I'll put this knife in my stomach or go wreck my car"
Like she thought it was funny
Damn, he fell to the floor and said "baby I love you"
Don't know if she's bluffing
But then she got nervous
The truth came to surface in a different discussion

He won't ever get that card on Fathers Day
He won't ever get that call
He won't ever get that card on Fathers Day
He won't ever get that call
But how does she sleep knowing that
He's going to get older and ask
"How could you lie to my face?"
'Cause you can't bury the past
She wears a beautiful mask
But soon he'll see through the cracks
It's only a matter of time
He'll leave and never come back

Head full of stress, he talked to her ex
Then they 3-way called her, now she's a mess
She ends the call and gets in a wreck
She done flipped her whip off the intersection
Guilty conscience mixed with depression
No more bluffing, no second guessing
He was sick of this life of stressing
Now he was praying upon a death wish
Not for her, but himself. He's desperate
Grabbed the weapon he'd take his breath with
Fell to the floor and he started sweating
Got way too close to doing something selfish
Remembered that he was a soldier
He struggled to keep his composure
He thought about all of his family and friends
He would devastate if it was over
And needless to say there was closure
Had a late night with some bartender
Woke up and still was not sober
Went back to work at that call center
He's in the bathroom and throwing up
Phone on his desk won't stop blowing up
He got a text from his baby momma, said
"No more baby, don't hit me up!"
Years later he's doing better been flying high with no crashes
Until one day in the break room he checked Facebook, now he's baffled
He sees her profile is recommended for him to add as a friend
New last name, but she's got a kid and he looks exactly like him, damn
Looks like exactly like him, damn
Looks like exactly like him

But how does she sleep knowing that
He's going to get older and ask
"How could you lie to my face?"
'Cause you can't bury the past
She wears a beautiful mask
But soon he'll see through the cracks
It's only a matter of time
He'll leave and never come back
He won't ever get that card on Fathers Day
He won't ever get that call
He won't ever get that card on Fathers Day
He won't ever get that call
