What makes a house a home
When you're stuck there all alone
It took all that money was it wasted away
When it's your love that made me stay
The sun shines in to meet your day
Through the curtains in a certain way
Whoever thought the light could be so dark
Like when you love something and it breaks your heart
You knew one day that I would be dying
But our love still remains alive
I knew one day that you would be crying
But you were ready
So it was no surprise
I hold onto the vows I swore
Wondering if there's more
All I ever wanted was you by my side
Now I spend my days keeping you alive
Bound to the living room chair
At the TV on the wall I stare
This big old house just rotting away
Without you there's no point anyway
As the end draws near I am thankful
For what makes a house a home
It's the memories the love and the care
Now that my time has come
I'm going home
