Lookin' at my last draft
Tryin' to shape the face
I've been starin' at the canvas all night
Well, something isn't right
Layin' down the brush
Morning light comin' through my window
The light is callin' me outside
I grab my hat - thinkin' I better forget
Continuin' with the painting
Goin' round a corner pondering
A lady standin' there and callin' out to me
Askin' for the way
And then she's outta sight
Merging with the light
My body's in tension
With eyes opened wide
I'm headin' back
I can never forget
That gentle expression
A golden trail
Starting with the grounding
I'm full of zest for action
Thinkin' 'bout the right scenery
Got it all inside of me
Continue with the painting
Daylight comin' through the door
I like to think that she's to enter the room
I wonder will she ever know what I do
Oh, she was outta sight
Merging with the morning light
My body in tension
And eyes opened wide
I wanna head back
'cause I will never forget
That gentle expression
A golden trail
The golden trail
