Tryna finish school, tryna keep a job
Tryna be yo' best self, tryna beat the odds
Your heart is screaming"send help", it needs you to respond
Cause you're the only one who is aware of the facade
You go through shit all alone and call it self help
How you sleeping like a baby who is well fed?
When you ain't even got yo' shit together
You ain't where you wanna be, so ain't no get-togethers
School loan, plus a bunch of failed relationships
Now you're thinking you're the problem in relationships
When really you're the full package, just at the wrong address
Got daddy issues, but it ain't enough for you to be a mess, or think of men as less
You'on drink and you'on do drugs
Could use a few hugs, maybe even a group hug
But you don't let nobody in who can't help fix the problem
Which is a problem
You think sharing you got problems is ammunition for others
That's a problem
On the phone for hours with your best friend
Listening to every rant, always allowing her to vent
You couldn't get a word in even if you wanted to 'cause to everyone else you're the strong friend
Time's going, you're scared of not knowing
Where you're going, but you learn and keep growing
It's called coping, healing alone, f*ck hoeing
Already met some people that it wasn't nice knowing
You ain't tryna add more to that list
Plus you're a lover girl, your ass be catching feelings quick
You'on know how to share your body with someone you'on see yourself with
So it's a wrap on that, cause you're a gift, heh
So much on your mind nobody knows about
So much you struggle with but don't talk about
Only when you pray you truly open up
Cause He's the only one who kept showing up
When you ain't had a handle on anything like a broken cup
Always locked in yo' room
Unmotivated, but got shit to do
Fake smiling when you're really just in a mood
Cause depression doesn't knock, it intrudes
Even through your turmoils, you still try to show up
And occasionally feel as if you're not doing enough
Draining social batteries when you need to be setting boundaries
And recharge, ain't no ifs or buts
Need to give yourself grace
Be kind, don't self-hate
Don't self-harm or self-sabotage what's great
Standing in your own way, pushing everyone away
Thinking everybody's out to get you
You see the same love you poured into your ex
Maybe you should try pouring that love into yourself, hm
Pour the same time and energy into your spirituality
And maybe focus on your health
You deserve better, why not give it to yourself?
Way too fine to be put through hell
Go water yourself and do shit that'll feed the soul
Be a little patient with the rate of your growth
Be deliberate but don't let them see you sweat
Don't be afraid of trying but don't be too desperate
Set the bar high for whoever comes next
You're the star, it's your movie and you control who's on set
