Genie has no wish
Genie has no dream
She just sits in her chair all day
Waits for the sun to come play
Light is her only friend
In a life filled with abuse and pain
Her father bounds up the stairs,
Pounds on her door, keeps her in chains
Her mother and brother cannot help
Poor girl in her four-walled world
Genie is only thirteen
So little has she seen
Genie has no say, in her plans today
Genie has no love
Genie has no hate
The sun slips in to bathe her hair
The window's cracked, her room lies bare
Oh, poor Genie
She walks around in her little rabbit pose
The good people at the hospital
They cannot ignore a poor girl's woes
So they take Genie away
And place her in a little seaside villa
She's never learned to speak or write
But if she did, her diary would so, so full of life
Fly, Genie, fly
Genie has no wish
Genie has no dream
She just sits in her chair all day
Waits for the sun to come play
