Kumara Chip - Bends With Frenefits Lyrics

Kumara Chip - Bends With Frenefits Lyrics

I know you say you're fine
So why can't I get you off of my mind
It's something
It's nothing
It's one thing
It's your thing
It's my thing
It's our thing

But we can never be something again
You wanna be friends
But I can't pretend
That I love you baby
But we can never be something again
You wanna be friends
But I can't pretend
That I love you baby

I know I'm out of touch
But I wanna feel your body on me so much
It's one thing
It's wanting
It's loving
It's lusting
It's burning
But we can never be something again
(Something again)

You're more than a friend
(More than a friend)
Don't try to pretend
(Don't try to pretend)
That we can ever be something again
Again
Again
That we can ever be something again

(And now - a reading of poetry by Kura-Kakerangi Turuwhenua)

A room full of people
Empty like Nietzsche's void
Stares back at me
Strung like a kendama toy

Obsolete
Meaning and purpose destroyed.
Philosophy I keep deployed
Spiritually my heart flounders and falls
Emotion my soul has loving withdrawals
Physically my arms are empty yet tall
Tall is the poppy my syndrome befalls

Spiritually open but mentally closin'
Emotions are broken
Like bread over wine
A Catholic school skirt can't bring back the time
That I called you mine

My words are messy
Like destiny
Messes my mess of a head
Messy words that are blessed
Distress of the mess is the mess I know best
I guess you know the rest
