Young preacher married a woman|not well thought of by some members of his congregation|one of his deacons said she was a woman of the night |wondered just how did he know||the preacher said you without sin |just step on up and judge this situation|it's between me and this woman |and the good Lord God almighty told me so||so he told us all about the night he got up off his knees|and started walking|he found her at a part of town |where preachers saints and deacons ain't supposed to go||how he took her by the hand|and took her up to the sugar man and started talking|he did not ask how much she cost|he only asked well how much does she owe||then he bought her back|from the devil himself her owned her|he bought her back|though many men have known her|he never gave a second thought|to what she sold or what she bought|she looked up at the preacher man|and then|and then|he wrapped his arms around her and took her home|and never mentioned it again||and then one night in the darkness |the preacher man reached out his hand to caress her|but all he found was a cold and empty place |where she was supposed to be||well he knew his angel had fallen from grace|and the preacher man knew just the place |to find her||so he walked back through the gates of hell|and found his angel and said come home with me||then he bought her back|from the devil himself her owned her|he bought her back|though many men have known her|he never gave a second thought|to what she sold or what she bought|she looked up at the preacher's face|and then|and then|he wrapped his arms around her and took her home|and never mentioned it again||ohhhhhhohhhohhhhh
