Lee Beatty - Slow-Dancin' at the Moose Lodge Lyrics

She was way past her prime, Been through some tough times
But the dance floor was dim, And she looked good to him
He was packed in his pants, Like a nest of fire ants
'Bout to bust at the seams, As the disco ball gleamed

She motioned him over, "Come hither, Red Rover"
He accepted the offer, and adjusted his trousers
So they made their connection, That on further reflection
Was a scandalous sight, At the Moose Lodge that night

No regret had set in
As they hotly joined in
To rhythmic gyrations
Fueled by vodka and scotch
The next mornin' they found
They're the talk of the town
When they caught 'em slow dancin'
At the city Moose Lodge

As the evening wore on, And the DJ was gone
It became a lot harder, To maintain their ardor
So they stopped at the bar, Then retired to her car
And continued their grapplin', In her company Lincoln

They dropped clothes on the floor
And she thought she would score
But Desire was suppressed
By that pain in her chest

So disheveled and flushed, To the Lodge they did rush
To phone the town doctor, Was 2 AM on his watch
The doc asked the question, "Was the pain from exertion?"
"Yes I'm down here slow dancin' At the city Moose Lodge"

She had felt just fine
When their interests aligned
In flagrante delicto
Fueled by vodka and scotch
But she was taken aback
When doc suspected, heart attack
Caused by vigorous motion
In and near the Moose Lodge

So red lights were flashin', And sirens were wailin'
She had punched her own ticket, For a hospital visit
She arrived at the ER, Smelled of Tabu and cigars
But her ticker was fine, It was all false alarm

So they both learned their lesson, No more bump and grind sessions
They switched over to bingo as their social expression
Still the disco ball sparkles, the bar serves Grey Goose
And the dance floor still beckons at the home of the Moose

No regret had set in
As they hotly joined in
To rhythmic gyrations
Fueled by vodka and scotch
The next mornin' they found
They're the talk of the town
When they caught 'em slow dancin'
At the city Moose Lodge

When they caught 'em slow dancin'
