Something's gotta, gotta, gotta change
But nobody ever, ever wants to change
Something's gotta, gotta, gotta change
But nobody ever, ever wants to change
Growing up in the ghetto
I was told to stay inside more
Now I got the chance to do
Many things that I couldn't before
Now I'm way pass the age of four
No longer can I stay indoors
Now I got to do many things
So people can live pass the age of four
Will anybody help the needy
And will anybody help
The ones in need
Will anybody help the needy
And will anybody please help
The ones in need, please but
Too many people die in the ghetto
But nobody gets the memo
Cuz they're running out of ammo
And the rich will never settle
Until their down, till their down
Until they're dead, under the ground
Can anybody save me
Can anybody save us
Can anybody save us
From poverty that kills
Way too many of us
Can life give us a new hope
That can take us to a better life
Instead of dying every night
And wish'n that it'll be alright
Now I'm stuck in the middle of a war
Something like this has never happened before
Kids don't live pass the age of four
Somebody take me to the ocean floor
And look what we did to the ocean core
Nobody can catch and kill no more
Cuz there ain't no fish no more
What can we do anymore
I can write and rhyme with this
I can say all of this but
Can anybody hear me
Can anybody save me
Can anybody take me
Take me far away
So that I can be free
Can anybody hear me
Can anybody save me
Can anybody save me
From poverty that really
Really wants to kill me
While I was down in the dirt
I met a beautiful girl
Who would be better than me
Who shouldn't be in poverty
Now we're talking about her and me
We don't want to be in poverty
But nobody ever wants to save
Her and me
But I want to be free
Is what she says to me
Oh how nice would that be
Only her and me
Oh how nice would that be
Only her and me
Sadly
Poverty took her in
Now while she's free
I look up to the sky and
I know that she's free now
So I can only hope
That she's looking down on me now
