Still holding on to what's gone
The sun rays came up at dawn, but left the rain
Spattering our sunglasses like windowpanes
Though the sky is grey, that can't stop me thinking
It's a beautiful day
Individual droplets multiply
Like looking through a fly's compound eye
That don't bother me, in fact I feel fine
Like I've grabbed hold of something electric, and taken flight
Still gonna gloss on a lost cause
Till the glow fades and I press pause, or play again
These scenes I've lived, or enlivened with my pen
We leave the sun behind
As you're always a good time, when you need some time
Liquid paper, thought I'd try
Peel back the old coat, let the new one dry
It don't affect me, lest my mind be closed
But as I climbed those heights, my instincts froze
