I couldn't wait to get away from that one-horse town
Move out on my own and start to really get around
And it's funny how life's better down the road, far away
Till from miles gone by, you look back from where you came
And many years and miles have found me at this place
A far cry from home; too far, too long, too late
And I think of that life and all the things we did
When we were young and innocent, up on Bobcat Ridge
I left Suzanne waiting while I had to find myself
I imagine after all these years, she's with somebody else
And I still regret my leaving her, and I sometimes wonder why
But I cannot change the past and all the time that passed by
And many years and miles have found me at this place
A far cry from happy in this treadmill race
But I think back at times, and all the things we did
When we were young and innocent up on Bobcat Ridge
Some have measured my success by my station in life
How much money's in the bank and the car that I drive
But they cannot see the man that sacrificed and lost it all
Who's one wish is to go back to a place now long gone
Too many years and miles have found me at this place
I'm a far cry from happy. Too far, too long, too late
But there's times I think back, when I was a kid
And I'm there with all my friends up on Bobcat Ridge
