Mad Madmen - 5's & 7's Lyrics

Mad Madmen - 5's & 7's Lyrics
Official

A music major who's alone in his room
Just playing some tunes
Cause he got the blues
He feels inclined to write a song in 5/4's
Willing to know more
He wants to explore
Along the way though he gets tired of 5's
He calls up his friend
Just so he can vent
His friend comes over with a gig bag in hand
They started to jam
Came up with a plan
What if we write up a solo section in 4's
To avoid monotone?
Hold on or should we retain recurring odd time
Like a 7 per se?
Brilliant! Oh wow mate, you're catchin' on to somethin'!
Should we try? Press record?
Yeah mate, hold on now, let me adjust the click track
There you go
Are you set?
Here it goes
The tune gave birth to epiphanic results
The blokes had be rid
Themselves of the blues
But now there was another problem at hand
They needed a drummer
To form up a band
One of the blokes said that he knew of a guy
Who plays really good
And said he'd suffice
The guys rehearsed the song that they had just made
The drummer sufficed
The band was so tight
They made a demo and spread it out to the world
Hoping to
Make it big
They got through a label who loved the song they had sent
Offered a
Record deal
Went in the studio to make a proper version
Studio guys
Were impressed
All that, they needed, now was a proper title
Couldn't think
Had no clue
Scratched their heads
