The last time I flew over these mountains
They were covered in flames
The view was clouded in ashes
I couldn't see a thing
I was deep diving down, down again
The pressure sucked me into these mazes
Of towering walls full of blaze
Cracks and pops littered my mind
I couldn't hear a thing
I was caught circling 'round, 'round again
Home was where I was headed
Empty and reluctant, unaffected
Despite seeing all of the mirages
I found myself shivering
Guess I had been numb for far too long
I couldn't feel a thing
I was burning, burning through my skin
Still home was where I was headed
Withered and useless, just a skeleton
And I didn't know what I was doing
Just going through the motions
Well, ain't it funny
When everything feels heavy
And growing pains don't come easy
It's 'cause you're busy fighting
Well life won't let you in
'Til you shed some skin until you shed some skin
