Naked feet up on the dashboard
Gentle nudge and the view is broad
Obscured sight of surrounding land
In my mind plays a familiar folk band
Mountains gathered like a horde
At a point where I'm almost board
Then again, I have memories stored
Replay them and think about what's North
Oh, to see the world
Through the eyes of a lover
To see your face
In the wilderness
Can't seem to hold you close
Yet you're right here with me
I take a breath of life
But it halts my stride
Green pastures but dry rivers
Blue haze but grey filters
A distant train sparks and hinders
Like a metaphor for faltering splinters
Bumpy road leads to rocky path
Uncontrolled and moving fast
Intention for the soul just to laugh
Is a break then too much to ask
Oh, to see the world
Through the eyes of a lover
To see your face
In the wilderness
Can't seem to hold you close
Yet you're right here with me
I take a breath of life
But it halts my stride
Trees cast shadows but they also bring life
Fees are narrowed by faraway fights
Glee not present until runaway nights
Old farm gates just out of sight
Oh, to see the world through your love
I see your face in the wilderness
Now you're close and you're right here with me
I take a breath of your life
It exalts my stride
