Stony figures passing by
Are casting shadows deep inside me
The rain beats down, I give a sigh
And long for someone here beside me
Those Who Go and Those Who Stay
The stony figures in the rain
To them the future seems to be so bleak
And here inside I feel the same
They're staring out into the gloom
Their world drifts on and on behind them
And do the figures have to fade
For us to see how we admire them?
The tide has gone out
I'm left high and dry
I throw back my head
And scream at the sky
The tide has gone out
I'm left high and dry
I throw back my head
And laugh at the sky
Stony figures passing by
Casting shadows deep inside me
The rain beats down, I give a sigh
And long for someone here beside me
The girl who sees herself in me
The girl who feels the rain around her
She knows she'll never understand
The contradictions that surround her
I walk the passages of my mind
And always in the same direction
I walk No Road and realize
That I will never reach perfection
But what the hell, it's just a game
That keeps me pacing down this one way track
And even though I know it's true
There's still no chance of ever turning back
