I once met a goose whose name was Karl
And he stepped on out to the middle of the road
He shouted at the drivers not to hit him
And then promptly died right there
Poor Karl's mistake was thinking that they'd listen
Dear Karl had thought the people were so nice
Oh Karl, you fool; but it looked so good on paper
He gambled on virtue and he paid the price
When the coroner came to take him away
He said, This was a murder most fowl
I said, That's rude; you're a stupid idiot
Then I turned and walked away
Poor Karl's mistake was thinking that they'd listen
Dear Karl had thought the people were so nice
Oh Karl, you fool; but it looked so good on paper
He gambled on virtue and he paid the price
Poor Karl's mistake was thinking that they'd listen
Dear Karl had thought the people would be kind
I know that he had the finest of intentions
But still his plumage in chalk was lined
