The winter comes
As life numbs
Sheets of clouds hide the sun
The temperature drops
The crickets' song stops
Streams of bitter cold run
The leaves fly
The plants die
Glazed in freezing rain
The cold stings
The fleeing birds' wings
Abandoning a home that won't sustain
I'm losing tread
A treacherous path lies ahead
I'm not sure that I can make it through
But a part of me knows
No matter what else comes and goes
I will find home in you
Cause I'll fight the pain, I'll make my stand
As long as you just hold my hand
I'll sacrifice for your sake as much as my own
I'd rather suffer by your side
Than find a sheltered place to hibernate
Until the winter's end alone
We'll persevere through every storm
I won't let go won't have you torn from me
By the sudden gusts or slow erosion of time
The only thing that could keep us apart
Is if we lose each other in the dark
So let's hold tight and let our dim lights shine
