A short walk down the gravel road that ran parallel to the river was a freshwater spring
The coldest, clearest, best tasting water I've ever known
THE SPRING FLOWS
Water flows from deep below
Makes all the living things grow
Forms a perfect spring that goes
Into the river
Perfect pool of mossy stones
Crystal clear and winter cold
A place to have a place to hold
Just below the road
Not far from the bridge below
We would get our fill
From that spring
Go on to the cabin
Just a little bit further on
Playing games then it rains
Water everywhere
The spring is so far away
Connects me to a distant day
Though I've found a better way
I still need that spring
