The sun seems so far away on a day like today
The chilly air creeps into the cracks of my shoes
As I march this daily grunge, I gaze off through the clouds
But to me it's all empty
And it smells like October
Bold crackling electricity
Is the skeleton key
To escape this dreamy landscape
Of wandering boredom
Dull plain of existence
Snap out of your everyday routine
And bypass all that you know
Go get struck by imaginary lightning
And flow down the street
With orange laser-beam eyes
Become your primitive counterpart
Speak inaudible gibberish
Discover the meaning of life
Put your belt on the other way
Then go and buy some ugly cream-colored sunglasses
And say you're me
The swampy hazel color returns to my eyes
And my soul is placed back into my body
Somehow I've changed, but I don't know how
And it smells like October
