I'm in an Alabama Rainstorm
With a Louisiana Lady
It's been a Mississippi morning
And the going's real slow
'Cos the water on the outside
Has been getting on the inside
And now the motor won't go
We've been traveling to Georgia
Chasing Alabama sunshine
Drinking Mississippi moonshine
Trying to make it last
Making out along the train tracks
Unraveling some crossed lines
Making up for lost time
Trying to wash away the past
And even if we never get there, it's been real good to take a ride
Even stuck and going nowhere, gonna take it in my stride
I've been battling the bad times
Hang on to all the good ones
Straddling that fine, fine line
Between the devil and the deep (blue sea)
And it's been a revelation
I get to do a different dance
Find out I got a second chance
Well it's a chance I'm gonna keep.
Now were sitting by the roadside
Waiting for Alabama Sunshine
And I hope it rains a long ,long time
It's gonna help it stay green
And my Louisiana lady
Is helping me to pass the time away
With her I never know the time of day
She's a Mississippi Queen
