Mowgli Shore - A Break in the Clouds Lyrics

Mowgli Shore - A Break in the Clouds Lyrics

And I try
And I try
And I try
For my shine
For my shine

In these Camelot hills above Lago di Como
Winter was not a season but a lifetime
I've never felt a chill that cold
A chill that erases the gentle touch of the Sun from your memory
A chill that freezes ambition and welcomes the spectres of regret into your soul
In these Camelot hills we huddled around open fires and nursed café lunghi and Pondered the flames projecting our dancing souls onto mahogany walls
Here they call souls anima, it means a breath of fresh air
The life-giving property, a gust of wind
Like the vernal Alpine breeze that clears the smoke
Shrouding the lake throughout winter
In these Camelot hills
I escaped from myself and searched for something beyond me
My life drowned in apathy, my anima lay dormant from sheer exhaustion
I stumbled through the dusk of this life as I tried to find the light
And I tried, I really tried, but soon I gave up
Because the clouds were just too thick
I closed my eyes and hoped to never wake again
And in my repose I bid farewell to a past life
But then, in the icy dawn of primavera
L'anima del lago funneled down the fallow canyons and swept away the fog
The frost began to melt and the birds harmonized
With the church bells and the forest called me home
I cried under those ancient oaks and sweet jasmine blossoms
Because this new green was no longer the old grey
I cried because i found a world where I no longer had to close my eyes
To dream of better days
And then, through a break in the clouds
I saw an old face and felt a warmth upon my cheek
And in those Camelot hills, the universe told me
I was exactly where I needed to be
So I lifted my anima up into the light
And through a break in the clouds, I saw the shine
