Neil w Young - Old Memories Lyrics

Neil w Young - Old Memories Lyrics

I walked down the road where we used to live
It didn't look the same, that's no surprise I guess
The years have all flown by and everything has changed
Well that's really no surprise to me, nothing stays the same

The old house is gone, the barn and drive-shed too
That old John Deere has bit the dust, well, I know some do
And fields where cattle pastured and where corn used to grow
There's rows and rows of houses now, I guess that's how it goes

If I could make just one wish I tell what I'd do
I'd line up my old memories and make each one come true

Where Dad used to park his truck it's just a patch of weeds
There's nothing left of the old farm now 'cept old memories
That old piana Mom used to play its keys don't dance no more
Well it was on its last legs the day Dad and Grandpa hauled it out the door

That old tree I used to climb, it looks different too
Come to think of it, so do I, that's what all those years will do
There's nothing left of anything around that used to be
Well that kind of comes as no surprise this late in life to me

If I could make just one wish I tell what I'd do
I'd line up my old memories and make each one come true

The songs that I used to sing, they're oldies now they say
Well, they're still my favourites like they were back in the day
Just like my favourite cowboys, the Lone Ranger, Gene and Roy
Well that's really no surprise, I was raised a country boy

If I could make just one wish I tell what I'd do
I'd line up my old memories and make each one come true
If I could make just one wish I tell what I'd do
I'd line up my old memories and make each one come true
Yeah, I'd line up my old memories and make each one come true
