All around a Christmas tree, waiting for Santa Claus
A little fat man in a bright red suit with whiskers on his jaws
A big black belt around his waist and big boots upon his feet
We're gonna wait for him tonight and offer him something to eat
Last year we just missed him, blame it on the old sandman
He came ahead of Santa with his sleepy dust in hand
But this year we're gonna be ready,we're gonna be wide awake
We're gonna wait and see old Santa we don't care how long it takes
Now the sandman travels with Santa but he travels far ahead
To make sure all the boys and girls are fast asleep in bed
But this year we're gonna be ready keep an eye out for him
And when he comes to our house we won't let him in
We got his lunch all ready, there's lots of syrup and cakes
We're gonna wait for him tonight, even till the morning breaks
(Oh) what's that sound upon the roof, can it be the little reindeer
Or is it that old sandman, waitin' for Santa up there
