One night when I was sleeping, I had a vivid dream
I dreamed I was at Calvary, and viewed this gruesome scene
They nailed a man to a cross, a thief on either side
Then I realized this was Christ, oh how I cried

Then they pierced His precious side
When I saw him in such agony, how I cried

I saw the guards gambling, for the cloak that He wore
I saw the women weeping, for the one they adore
Then I heard Him say "I thirst",but water was denied
When He said "father forgive them", oh how I cried

I saw the men take him down, placed him in Joseph's tomb
His disciples were broken, they could see only doom
But soon His tomb was empty, His rising was declared
When I realized what this meant, oh how I cheered

When He was resurrected, I cheered
'Cause I knew death was defeated
The enemy I most feared
