I was tattered and shattered
But that never mattered to Him
He welcomed me openly
Set me free from my sin
I was bruised and ill used
Yet never refused to come in
Then He forgave me and He saved me

I struggled through this life
Knew my share of hard times
But I knew nothing about
This Saviour of mine
And I've done many things
Of which I am ashamed
But when I met Christ
He paid my price
And He cleansed my name

Ignorance is no excuse
But that is how I plea
I was not raised in a church
So how could I see
How could I have known Him
When nobody told me
But now that I know
I'll love Him so
For all eternity
