I didn't get to touch the hem of His garment
But I was surely touched by His rugged cross
I received just enough of His precious blood
To keep me eternally from being lost
No I wasn't there to see Him crucified
No I didn't hear as His enemies cried
Give us Barabbas and let him go free
But crucify that Jesus up on Calvary
I didn't get to hear His sermon on the mount
Nor did I get to see Him rise from the grave
But I received by faith what He did for me
And through Him from all sin I am now saved
No I wasn't there to see Him as He died
I didn't drive that spear into His precious side
I never swung that whip that cut into His flesh
But still I was as guilty as all of the rest
No I wasn't there but still I was guilty
