She has my ring on her finger
But there's leaving on her mind
In great haste to taste the freedom
That she hopes to find
Has her eye on a guy
Much wealthier than I
Will she forsake it all
For some pie in the sky
I know that I am not wealthy
But I keep a roof over head
I keep my kids in shoes and clothes
And keep them all well fed
We sometimes have to cut corners
Just so we can make it through
But my wife likes the finer things
And she likes them brand new
I don't drive a fancy car
And our house is not the best
We may not wear designer clothes
But still we are well dressed
I manage to keep the wolf away
Though there's claw marks on the door
I've no desire to be rich
My wife hates being poor
