There's a book I know of that's ragged and torn
Thus proving that it is well used
There's a book I know of that's grimy and worn
It's the bible, the book of good news
It's the bible of my mama, she reads it each night
It's the bible of my mama,it's her one delight
It's the bible of my mama, she'll cherish each line
And it's written in braille,'cause mama is blind
Now her trembling hands caresses each page
As her fingers siphons each line
From paper that's dog-eared and yellowed with age
Go the words so precious to her mind
There's a book I know of that's well stained with tears
The emblems of sorrow and joys
But this book has sustained her over the years
And it will 'till the day she dies
