Nick Johnson - Zany Zac Lyrics

[ Featuring Nino Morro ]

PRESENTER:
Oh, hello, boys and girls!
It s Zany Zac. You ve just caught me watering the flowers.
Just like you and me, plants need water too. It helps them grow big and strong.

Today, Jumble and I are doing some gardening. Jumble went to get some soil from the garden ages ago where is he?

[Squelching sounds]

What is that noise?

[Water and bucket sounds]

Jumble! What happened? You re all wet!

JUMBLE:
I used the special hose to water myself. I wanted to be as big, strong and beautiful as the flowers.

PRESENTER:
Oh, Jumble! That won t work for you or I. We need water in a different way. It s only plants that grow big and strong by being watered. Plants use something very, very special to make food. It s called photosynthesis.

JUMBLE:
That s a big word.

[Jumble tries to say photosynthesis and keeps getting it wrong]

PRESENTER:
Let s break it down.

Pho-to-syn-the-sis.

Shall we try that again? OK, here we go

Pho-to-syn-the-sis.

(Jumble copies the syllables, finally getting it correct)

That s it! Well done, Jumble.

Boys and girls, why don t you try? OK, here we go. Are you ready?

KIDS:

Pho-to-syn-the-sis.

PRESENTER:
Yay, that s it. Well done!

Right, where was I? Ah, yes. I m just about to plant these seeds. You can help me, Jumble!
Did you know, the life of each plant begins with a tiny, tiny seed?

JUMBLE:
Oh, but that doesn t look like a plant.

PRESENTER:
Not yet it doesn t, but you wait and see.

Now, how many seeds have we got? Can you count with me?

JUMBLE & PRESENTER & KIDS:
We ve got: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5.

PRESENTER:
Now, to turn these seeds into flowers, we need to plant them, and I have a great song to show us how

(Singing)
Planting flowers all day long, while we sing our planting song
Place some soil into a pot, make a hole and what ve we got?
A perfect place for seeds to grow, underground that s where to sow
Add them gently, one by one, and water down and wait for sun

JUMBLE:
But where s the flower?

PRESENTER:
Be patient, Jumble. It takes time to grow. With water and sun, those seeds will sprout up and grow into beautiful flowers.

(Talking to kids at home)

Can you pretend to be a seed that grows into a beautiful flower?

Let s all crouch down very small. That s it, boys and girls, just a little bit more, and then slowly, slowly we grow up, and up, and up, and up, until we are big and tall. Yes, that s it! Reach up really high!

JUMBLE:
Look what I found: a worm!

PRESENTER:
Oh yes! Did you know that worms are really important? They help to keep the soil healthy to make our flowers grow big and strong.

JUMBLE:
It s all long and wiggly.

PRESENTER:
That s right, Jumble! Worms wiggle their way through the soil. Can you all wiggle around like a squiggly wiggly worm? That s it! Keep wiggling

In fact, I know a song about a squiggly wiggly worm. Would you like to hear it?

(Singing with musical intro)

The morning sun came up to greet the squiggly wiggly worm
He s got no shoes cause he s got no feet, he s a squiggly wiggly worm
He goes from here right down to there, he s long and soft and he s got no hair
There s nothing to style yet he takes a while, he s a squiggly wiggly worm.

JUMBLE:
I like that song.

PRESENTER:
(Yawning)
All that singing has made me so sleepy.

JUMBLE:
Me too.

PRESENTER:
I think it s time for our nap. See you next time, boys and girls, to find out how our seeds have become beautiful flowers.

JUMBLE:
Before we have our nap, do you think we can sing the wiggly worm song again? Please?

PRESENTER:
OK. This time I want you to sing and pretend you re a squiggly wiggly worm. Here we go .

(Musical intro again)

JUMBLE:
(Singing) The morning sun came up to greet the squiggly wiggly worm

JUMBLE & KIDS:
(Joining in)
he s a squiggly wiggly worm.
