Everyone I know has got rocks in their shoe
Grinding back and forth with your every move
And if you aren't careful when the stones accrue
You'll end up being pinned beneath your crumbled ruins
And in vain when we bury the past away
As if by letting it go makes it better to stay
The feeling in my nerves did extrapolate
Was it the angle of a curve that i take for straight?
That's when I knew i had an eye for symmetry
But for years it never really put a weight on me
And even though you taught me how to do-re-mi
You could never see, who you were to me
I was just a kid when I learned those things
In a little patch of dirt with a few other weeds
And even though that's where i ripped my roots out from
It's the dirt in my teeth that'll make me strong
