Underneath the cypress trees I'm
Breathing in Sedona in June
Laying next to my best friend and
Listening to Dark Side of the Moon
And overhead the sunlight's shining through
The branches like gold
And all at once it all dissolves into the kaleidoscope
Dirt lines and numbered signs try to
Separate the hikers from the woods
Single file for fifteen miles walking
Right along the trail just like we should
But soon the line gets blurred between the things
We've learned and what we know
As we try to find our place inside the kaleidoscope
And all
The colors swirl around
And all the world
Is turning inside out
Until we fall back down
To solid ground
In a flash the dirt and grass turn
Into asphalt underneath our feet
We split apart to separate cars and
One by one we all begin to leave
And so we drive away pretending like
We know which way to go
But in the end we'll all dissolve into
The kaleidoscope
The kaleidoscope
The kaleidoscope
