Father to the orphan
Friend of the forgotten
You found me on the ruins
Orphaned by the horrors of war
You became my father, to see me through it all
You the comfort in a death camp
Grace in the presence of slaughter
A contradiction to this hell on earth
Who am I, that you would sacrifice it all?
I was dealt a cruel hand, but you needn't partake in my sorrow
You should have walked away to save yourself
You stood beside me, fearless
A love greater than death
From this live till the next
You have been my shelter
Never once abandoned you walked with me
My brothers, my sisters
Beyond deaths door
Into the chamber, you were the first
You had every chance to leave yet you remained
When they came bearing fear
You told us stories of joy
You chose death with the orphan over your freedom
When everything went quiet and cold, your embrace was all that I knew
A Greater love has no man than this
Than he who would lay down his life for me
A beautiful reflection of The Life, The Life I'm yet to see
When I awake I'll see you standing there
With the same smile
You my father
Were always so glad to bear
Comfort in a death camp
Grace in the presence of slaughter
A contradiction to this hell on earth
