If I'm not straight, does that mean that I'm crooked
Why does one word other than man, woman, or human being
Have to define what or who I am
I could be straight and crooked
Well not crooked and not straight
So once again, society's labels are misplaced
Just because I may love someone who is of the same
Gender as I am does not mean I am
Any less of a person, woman, or man
I choose no label
I just want to be happy and free to be me
Instead I wear an invisible label
Produced by society
Am I straight if I lie
And still, you say it's different
I say, come on, let's get real
Is it straight if you cheat on your spouse
With a man or woman? Oops
There goes the house
I don't need a label to give me identity
I have a name and if I want to change it
No one else can decide it but me
I breathe to live
I laugh, I cry, and like everyone else
I will someday die
When your eyes rest on me
Do you see me differently
Even though we are the same
Except for the obvious in reality
Yes, we all are different
That is what makes us the same
We all have different preferences
And for that there should be no shame
It doesn't matter if I was born a girl
Or a guy, whom I choose to lay with
Or how I identify
I can be crooked, straight, or not
Does that mean I walk the societal line
Or do the break from the societal norm
Of which I was born that didn't change it
It doesn't matter if I was born a girl
Or a guy, whom I choose to lay with
Or how I identify
I can be crooked, straight, or not
Does that mean I walk the societal line
Or do the break from the societal norm
Of which I was born that didn't change it
If only developed more through time
You see, it's always been in me
That's why it's called coming out
To let the world know who I really am
Not some rep of a named label
But someone who is confident and able
To do the things most anyone else can
It doesn't mean I'm crooked
And it doesn't make me straight
It just makes me me
So please don't judge, label, or hate
I choose no label
I just wanna be happy and free to be me
Instead I wear an invisible label
Produced by society
I don't need a label to give me identity
I have a name and if I wanna change it
No one else can decide it but me
I have a name and if I wanna change it
No one else can decide it but me
