Like a smashed mirror catching the light

I can't bring myself to look away
Lest she shift and the pattern go with her
So I watch her reflections dance across the wall

Mesmerized by colors and shapes that I've never quite seen before
And in this moment I realize this is what love is supposed to feel like
When you admire someone's flaws as much as their strengths

I am like Prince Rupert's drops
I am strong to the core but embedded with stress
I fear that the tiniest tap of circumstances
Will cause me to violently disintegrate everything around

I shimmer in the sunlight too
My patterns reflect so differently from you
I fear a return to my past
I fear the shattering of broken glass
