Sweltering in the heat
Flying through the air
Sunlight scatters on the ground
Leaves contort in prayer
Crunching on the gravel
Twisting with the path
My bike sways and begins to collapse
Falling, my leg forms a gash
Bleeding through my pants
Down on Turkey Hill
My parents soon pick me up
And comfort me to still
Cleaning out the wound
Blood dissipates
But caught beneath the skin
A small rock awaits
Mom said it would fix itself
The body would push it out
But still months later
The rock like wood and a clout
So when you skinned your knee
And saw I was inside
You burned off the skin
To cauterize my mind
Killed off the parasites
And the viruses too
But hardness and harming yourself
