On the island, 97
Before I became a man
Beneath a burning skyline
Where ocean becomes the land
I saw visions of an omen
And wrote these words in the sand
As a monument to honor my growth into what I am
And what began as a childhood adventure
Became a journey to heal and to understand
Fleeting memories, now pieces of a picture
The more I live, the more my universe expands
In my heart, there's a place I call the island
It's been there ever since I was a seed
It ain't much, my family and the sunshine
But in the end, I think this is all I need
I close my eyes and I can see it
I'm a million miles away, but it always lives in my mind
And no matter where I am along my journey
All I want is to see it another time
I know you feel me, we all have this little place
Somewhere to be safe when we're lonely or feeling scared
And if ever you feel lost, and you don't know where you're going
It's okay, because you're already there
So let's flow now, relax your mind
And let the stars light up the night
Just sit back and enjoy the ride
I said it's all going to be alright
Put down your weapons of destruction
There is no war you need to fight
You are the captain of this vessel
And if you seek, then you will find
One day you'll find me on the island
I pray you'll make it, if you can
So we can write the final chapter
And all can end as it began
