Lily cries
Has her life been forgotten
While she sits all alone
In that old rocking chair
And she tries
To remember the good times
In those black and white memories
But there's nobody there
Lily cries
Her man is twenty years gone now
But sometimes she can feel him
Holding onto her hand
And she sighs
She's outlived neighbors and friends now
There's no one left but her children
And they don't understand
Lily spent her whole life as a mother and a wife
Always there to help a friend
And though she loves them all
The children never visit and they seldom call
Oh how it breaks her heart
They've forgotten her again
Lily turned eighty years old today
And for her simple, little birthday party
There were no family, friends or even a cake
Just lonely tears falling on her plate
And those three Hallmark visitors
Standing there on the table
Lily cries
Cause her life's been forgotten
As she waits all alone
For that knock on the door
And she tries
To hold onto her memories
And she prays for the day
When she won't cry anymore
And Lily cries
