Pete Jonasson - Inflation Lyrics

I was in California
Riding down the interstate
When I looked out of the car to my left and I saw the shortest Limousine I've ever seen
It was a 4 door Honda sedan accord
It had a little glass chandelier hanging from the ceiling of the back seat of coarse
It had curtains hanging from rods on all 4 of the tinted windows
It had wires showing on all 4 tires

It was a craigslist, marketplace, who'd a guessed, very best, no contest, and no picture in the ad.
The Uber ride wasn't bad

Oceanside
Coastal tide
Sun tan lines and pacific western time
Coast bar
At the park
In those sandy old hills outside San diego
And the sound of a sea lion that sounds like a hound
Over the hill and 1,700 miles to go

The gas was low and I had to get a tow
When I went off the road and got a flat tire
The sign on the truck said not for hire but I changed out the tire and got back on the road
Add a little gas and what do you know?
Heading back down the road to Fort Worth
An old cowboy just knows his worth.

What was I doing way out west?

Well,

I was a road trippin' coffee sippin' gas station chicken
Grab an old guitar and I'll do a little pickin'
A soul searching ocean and I'll have to do some fishing but three days on the road and I'll have to clean the kitchen.
Grab a wish bone and it ain't Thanksgiving
Three days on the road and I'm gonna make a living
Its hard to pay the bills when you're always on vacation
Paid time off and the train just left the station
It's getting harder to pay the bills
Thanks to Inflation!
Insurance, Interest, and Tax-A-tion
