The Nail
While the paint peels from the walls
The sash cords break and the plaster falls
While the roof lets in the rain
The railings break from the strain
Well by and by Everything fails
It all comes down to just one nail
Just one Nail, Just one nail
I remember setting the floor
The hand hewn beams and the oak front door
Through the gates across the stone
Was an entrance into this home
But then by and by Everything fails
It all comes down to just one nail
Just one Nail, Just one nail
In the End it all tumbles down
To the ground it goes
Where its all gonna be there
Next time around
When the wind blew through the halls
We packed our bags and emptied the vault
With the tide up to our waist
We waved goodbye to this place
Because by and by everyone sails
In boats they build from just one nail
Just one nail, just one nail.
