I think I'm in a better place now
Pulled the shades up, went to smile from a frown
I'm treating myself right now
Time to wake up, smell the roses look around
I'm not worried 'bout last night
I'm not worried 'bout tomorrow
I'm not worried 'bout the time
Take as much as you can borrow
Woke up, smelled the roses
Watched 'em wither pretended I couldn't notice
Took 'em in and hid 'em in a woven
Scared to expose 'em in case they got stolen
Thought I didn't earn such a nice thing
I deserved to never watch 'em breathe
Dead weeds all I'm meant to see
Couldn't keep a rose alive, I guess it must be me
But I woke up, took a breath and got back on my feet
Got the water then went back to the garden and cleaned
After struggling with growing in all of '18
Watched it bloom, but now I'm using different seeds
I think I'm in a better place now
Pulled the shades up, went to smile from a frown
I'm treating myself right now
Time to wake up, smell the roses look around
I'm not worried 'bout last night
I'm not worried 'bout tomorrow
I'm not worried 'bout the time
Take as much as you can borrow
I'm not worried 'bout the past
I'm not worried 'bout the sorrow
Flowers die in the fall
But the spring will always follow
Told 'em all about the roses, and I was warned
It's all my fault, cut myself with the thorns
They all knew I shouldn't get 'em, and I wanted more
Now the garden's looking pink, dead roses in my drawer
I guess that you can never be sure
Take a risk so you can make up something beautiful and pure
It may not endure
But learn from your mistakes, we can always mature
And I don't wanna be so insecure
Leave the gate open, so we can watch and we can learn
Flowers always die, but you can always find more
And they might smell pretty, but some grow in manure
I think I'm in a better place now
Pulled the shades up, went to smile from a frown
I'm treating myself right now
Time to wake up, smell the roses look around
I'm not worried 'bout last night
I'm not worried 'bout tomorrow
I'm not worried 'bout the time
Take as much as you can borrow
I'm not worried 'bout the past
I'm not worried 'bout the sorrow
Flowers die in the fall
But the spring will always follow
