They were here before we burned this town
From steel to fire, ash to ground
A sacred place before we set it ablaze
But now it's rising out the flames
Best that we show you a little bit of history
This town was once Manavon, a land of the Lenape
Back in the day this was their place to go drink
Till the new world came right in, took this town and turned it to hardened steel
Then they took the chief and they kneeled him on the ground
And they put a pistol to his crown
Leveled all the trees and turned them into factories
Mysteriously they burned, as the spirit of the chief and the brave returned
Rise rise burning phoenix
To the sky
In these flames we all get high
I know we're still healing
Better each day
Best in show when it comes to town reform
Peace and loving just like it was before
This tiny town has spoken
We said we got no time for war
Back in style is loving everyone
And healing these wounds that were inflicted by that gun
Let's heal, my dear
This place is all love and no tears,
No fear
Rising and sharing and burning with love
My dove,
If only we could fly high above
This place, we'd see
Let's fly through these streets so we can see the freedom of the town
We'd see progressing neighborhoods
Light these wings on fire as we fly
Through these flames we fly... to keep the spirit of the chief and the brave alive!
Rise rise burning phoenix
To the sky
In these flames we all get high
I know we're still healing
Better each day
Rise rise burning phoenix
To the sky
In these flames we all get high
I know we're still healing
Better each day
