Once I loved with a sincere heart,
Animals were my world from the start.
Pluto, my black cat, always by my side,
A faithful friend in whom I did confide.

But darkness took hold deep within me,
Wine and anger wouldn't set me free.
In a cruel rage, I harmed my friend,
Took his eye; I couldn't comprehend.

Oh, the shadows closing in,
I can't escape the weight of sin.
The cat's eye stares into me,
Reflecting guilt I cannot flee.

Consumed by guilt and deep despair,
Our bond turned into a nightmare.
In madness profound, his life I took,
Hanged my dear friend; my soul forsook.

That night, the fire consumed my home,
Amidst the ashes, nothing left to roam.
On the only wall that still stood tall,
A giant cat's silhouette adorned the wall.

A black cat with a rope around its neck,
Imprinted there, a haunting specter.
This vision filled me with dread and fear,
An ominous sign that doom was near.

Oh, the darkness wraps around,
In my guilt, I slowly drown.
The cat's gaze won't let me be,
There's no place where I can flee.

Haunted by that terrifying sight,
I found another cat, black as night.
With a white mark upon its fur,
An omen grim that would recur.

Madness led me to a deed so dire,
I killed my wife in rage and ire.
Behind the wall, her body sealed,
But the cat revealed what I'd concealed.

Now the shadows close in fast,
In wickedness, I'm lost at last.
The cat's cry has sealed my fate,
Forever doomed-it's too late.
