In the beginning there was darkness void and deep
A formless earth where silence kept
Then God spoke light and it was done
Day from night His will begun
Genesis the start of it all
From nothing life began to call
With every word the world took shape
In His image we'd escape
He made the sky the seas the land
With a touch He shaped the sand
Plants and trees they grew so green
A world of beauty yet unseen
Genesis where life was sown
From the dust mankind was thrown
Adam first then Eve his mate
In Eden's garden they would wait
But curiosity it did bite
The serpent's whisper in the night
They reached for knowledge not for light
And paradise was out of sight
Cain and Abel sons of man
One a tiller one a clan
Jealousy struck blood was shed
A mark on Cain forever red
Genesis a tale of fall
Yet through Noah God would call
An ark to save from flood and strife
A covenant a sign of life
From Babel's tower to Abraham
A promise made a chosen lamb
Genesis where stories start
The journey of the human heart
This song of beginnings of fall and grace
A testament of God's embrace
Through trials love and divine plan
Genesis the story of man
