I'm stood behind the glass
Calling your name
You see me there
And you smile and you wave
But you don't seem to understand
What I have been trying to say
I'd tell you to run
But you insist to stay
And in your state sedate
Beds are made everyday
But despite the open gate
You see no need to escape
And for a second there
It seemed like you also had something
You may have wanted to say
But these moments well they pass
And courage it fades
And there's an apple in your eye
That will grow to wonder why
You took so much comfort in denial
While this was the thorn in my very side
What will you do when your moment it comes
And within you feel spreading
The warmth of the sun
Will you let it
Thaw your limbs and start to run
Or will you watch the sun set again
And return to being numb
