Cycling along the Amstel
I need to stop for a rest
My legs are tired and my mouth is dry
And my heart is leaping out of my chest
I live in Amsterdam
I've been here for a third of a year
I've travelled by both foot and tram
But I find that my bike's without peer
As I head south I get out of the city
And I ride beside the Amstel Park
My lungs they open and my spirit soars
I think I'm finally finding my spark
Continuing back towards home now
My body aching for sleep
My mind is buzzing and my muscles are cramped
I'll get home and fall into a heap
