See some twisted fingers in the air and some writing on the walls
Lets just say the most familiar to me are black or bloodshot
So what am I supposed to do
When I feel dirty dirty when I start feeling blue
Its a heartbreak
Its a damn shame
When I open up my phone and see familiar faces
On both sides of the crime man its getting ancient
Thats just what I was raised with
Had to leave so I can see it from a different view
Might be gone but trust me I didn't forget you
Still check up
Stay in touch
It ain't much but this is where I'm from
Theres so much going on in the valley that I'm from
But this is my home
Theres so many doing wrong and many want them gone
But they are my own
I know it seems hopeless when all you really feel is stuck
I know we're a product of this place that we come from
Theres so much going on in the valley that I'm from
But this is my home
Lets take a trip down these streets into these fractured homes
It really cuts deep because for me this really gets personal
Priorities jumbled things that seem to matter really don't
Like the opposition that resides just right down the road
Sometimes the colors on our backs mean more than our brown skin
I know there's politics involved that make it complicated
Poverty to low income are majority
No outside help we're thrown the crumbs of the American dream
Had to leave so I can see it from a different view
Might be gone but trust me I didn't forget you
Still check up
Stay in touch
I ain't got much but wait until I get some
Theres so much going on in the valley that I'm from
But this is my home
Theres so many doing wrong and many want them gone
But they are my own
I know it seems hopeless when all you really feel is stuck
I know we're a product of this place that we come from
Theres so much going on in the valley that I'm from
But this is my home
This is my home
This is my home
This is my home
This is my home
This is my home
This is my home
This is my home
